Carl Friedrich Gauß was a renowned mathematician. Non-mathematicians might recognize the term “Gaußian curve”. His picture also appeared on the German 10 mark bill before the mark was replaced by the euro. Gauß’ second wife was Friderike Waldeck, whose mother was Wilhelmine Charlotte Auguste née Wyneken.
