I am president of the Perry County Lutheran Historical Society and have done some research on what happened to the students in the first class of the Log Cabin College here in Altenburg, Missouri. I see that you must be a descendent of the von Wurmbs. Three of the first students were von Wurmbs. Also, I’m guessing you must be aware that Maria Wurmb married Franz Julius Biltz and their daughter married Martin Luther Wyneken. If you ever get to our area, make sure you stop into the Lutheran Heritage Center & Museum. I’m guessing that we have some resources that may interest you in our research library. Check us out at lutheranmuseum.com. I have also written a book titled “Mama Buenger: Mother of a Synod”. It’s a work of historical fiction which tells some stories about the formation of the LCMS in those early years.
